Mistfall soon picked up the scent of ShadowClan. She hated that smell, but above all, she hated the Thunderpath. Everything about it. It's smell, it's feel, how it looked, and the monsters that ran over it. She soon spotted the Thunderpath, except no Monsters were running down the long strip of black asphault.
Yeah. she whispered, as if a Monster might come and pounce on them. Mistfall scented around ThunderClan's side of the Thunderpath. Nothing. I don't scent ShadowClan. They haven't been here. she mewed. She wanted to get away from there as soon as possible. It was oddly quiet. Too quiet.

Howlingwolf glanced at Mistfall with a wry smile.
"Somehow I don't think they'd have the guts to cross the Thunderpath en masse anyways. But you never know, i guess." The tom shrugged his broad shoulders and turned to leave. He hated the Thunderpath, so he was not in a hurry to make up some reason to linger.

Mistfall nodded. Howlingwolf was right. But those tunnels under the Thunderpath… couldn't they go through those? She shook her head and kept walking.
I guess RiverClan is last. she mewed. She had enjoyed the walk so far. She thought the river was beautiful, but she'd never dream of swimming, even on a hot day. I hope they haven't tried to take Sunning Rocks again. she mewed with a chuckle, remembering when they had, but that was when she was a kit. Mistfall had heard other stories about it though.

Howlingwolf said nothing. He had not walked the course of the territory in a while, and his paws were getting a bit achy. He glanced at the pine trees that surrounded the Treecut place and wondered if Mistfall always had so much energy. But he had been on two patrols that day, so he supposed he was just tired, as any warrior would be. The tom didn't put much stock into the idea of RiverClan taking over Sunningrocks. He had already been there during his dawn patrol, and he doubted RiverClan would attack so close to nightfall. But then, they might. One never knew. But this close to leafbare it was still unlikely in Howlingwolf's mind.

Mistfall saw Sunningrocks, as they came into view. She smiled and stepped onto the warm rocks with a sigh. It helped her slightly achy paws. She looked across the river, but could see nothing. She scented the air. No RiverClanners. Her whiskers twitched as she turned towards Howlingwolf.
Its really quiet today. she mewed. But it was orobay just one of those quiet days.

Howlingwolf followed Mistfall onto the rocks. He looked about him at the river and the forest behind.
"Did you expect anything else?" Howlingwolf asked with a sarcastic tone to his voice. He shook out his fur and then sighed. It was quiet, but he liked it that way. Better quiet than riddled with a bunch of stupid turf wars.

Mistfall shook her head. no. I like it like this. It's peaceful. It's just… usually the birds are singing. she mewed. She had relized a while ago that the birds hadn't been singing.
Mistfall sighed. I guess we better get going. But if like to visit the Sandy Hollow. I haven't been there scince I was an apprentice. she mewed. She liked Sunningrocks, but she knew they'd have to get back.

"Really? Well, then you should find someone to do some fight training with you more often. We need to keep our battle skills sharp, you know, even after apprenticeship. Or so my battle-hungry sister would say." Howlingwolf snorted. Personally he thought fighting was a waste of time. It got nothing done and only added to the harsh part of life in the forest. Sometimes he wished he could just smack some sense into the cats around Fourtrees, but he supposed Clan rivalries were natural. As was their insistance on violence, however stupid and pathetic it was in the end.

Your right. I should. You never know when a Clan could attack. Mistfall mewed, thinking that maybe her and Howlingwolf could practice together. Would you like to practice? As much as I hate battle, we do need to keep our skills sharp. she admitted. She had never really liked Shrikefeather, she was always battle hungry. But of course she wouldn't say that in front of her brother.

Howlingwolf let out a low breath.
"What, now? Are you sure you're old enough to be a warrior? You have the energy of a rambunctious kit," he meowed, twitching his whiskers at her. He supposed she was very young as a new warrior. He was probably twice her age, if not more. Howlingwolf looked about the sandy hollow, remembering times he and his siblings had practiced there. Shrikefeather had always naturally been the best fighter. He had never cared for it much, and Northwind was too afraid of blood to want to really work at it.

Mistfall flicked her tail. Of course! Why do you think so little of me? she asked, narrowing her eyes. She wondered why he thought that. She was just like any regular warrior.
Mistfall looked at the Sandy Hollow with a smile. She loved the feeling of the sand under her paw pads.

The whiskers above one of Howlingwolf's eyes rose slightly.
"I suppose I merely wish to point out that I am astounded you have so much energy left so late in the day. And after a tour of the territory, too." The tom flicked his tail and glanced up at the treetops, his whiskers twitching. He was getting tired, what with all the exercise and the fact that he hadn't even eaten yet. His stomach clenched pitifully, reminding him of that fact.

You think I have energy? You think I'm energetic? I'm not. she mewed with a chuckle. The Sunningrocks had soothed her aching paws, but they were starting to hurt again.
Lets go. I'm starving. she mewed, as her stomach let out a low growl. She ducked her head in embarresment, but started to walk back to camp. Howlingwolf… do you consider me a friend?

Howlingwolf glanced at Mistfall as she continued to talk. He figured that any cat who could talk so much had to be at least as energetic as his mouthy sister. But he had such limited experience interacting with cats one-on-one, so what did he know? The prospect of food lightened his mood, though, and he didn't argue when Mistfall began to walk back towards camp. Her question caught him off guard, though. The tom looked closely at the she-cat, trying to guess her intentions. He supposed this was the heart of her intention in asking him to go for a walk at all. She wanted to see if he was aware of his own reputation, perhaps. Anger heated up inside of him. So this was all about mocking him all along?
"Ask any cat in the Clan and they'll tell you I have no friends," he meowed smoothly, hiding his anger behind a response that he knew didn't even really answer her question.

Mistfall shook out her pelt, and nodded. I guess it's a no then. she mewed, flicking her tail. When Camp came into view, she smiled at Howlingwolf. Ive had a great day. The walk was really fun. Thank Howlingwolf. she purred, and leapt into camp, choosing a vole and settling down.
Mistfall glanced at Howlingwolf, then looked away, continuing her vole-eating.
