Phantomshade dipped his head to his leader, his expression neutral. He was already deep in thought, trying to think of ways to break the ice. It would all be pointless if the ice were too thick, but he was sure there would be places where it would be weaker. It would only be a matter of time before they found out, he supposed. The tom padded after Moonstar and out through the reeds that surrounded RiverClan's camp.

Twistedpaw watched as the leader and deputy strode out of camp. "They are pretty cool but I think Icefeathers job is way more interesting! She is amazing, and someday I want to be just like her!" he thought to himself. He limped towards the medicine cat den hoping to find icefeather his new mentor. He just couldn't wait to start learning!

The dark tabby tom made his way back into camp carrying a blackbird firmly in his jaws. His piercing yellow eyes stared at the cats gathered in clusters, probably gossiping or whatever it was they did at this hour. Thrushpelt wouldn't know, since he spent most of his time hunting or training. He had little use for discourse and preferred action. The tom set his prey down on the pile and stretched, giving his stiff muscles a moment to relax themselves. The tom glanced at the cats gathered around him, wondering if any of them would be up for a hunting patrol. He hoped none of them had observed him coming in with prey. He didn't want to have to endure the usual lecture about tiring himself out. He was a healthy young warrior, and he wanted to serve his Clan. Who should know better than he what strain his body could take? The tom spotted Hollysplash sitting in a corner by herself. He swallowed when he looked at her, trying to stifle the nervous feeling that seemed to pinch at his stomach. Why should he be nervous? She was a Clanmate. She might go hunting with him like any other. And she wouldn't think anything of the request. Would she? Thrushpelt shook his head to dislodge it of its wayward thoughts. You're a warrior, not a mouse! he reminded himself. Just go talk to her.
The tom padded up to Hollysplash and dipped his head. He opened his mouth and was chagrined with his voice came out a little higher than usual, "Hey. Feel up to going hunting?"

Hollysplash looked at thrushpelt with a kind smile notecing the nervous squeek in his voice."Yeah lets go hunt even though you just came in from hunting." Hollysplash got up and stretched her muscles. "So how is the pray running? It feels like I haven't hunted in ages." Hollysplash purred
She had ben intrestide in thrushpelt for a long time. Her heart jumped when he came over and asked her to hunt. Hollysplash knew she shouldn't incurage him to keep over exserting himself but she couldent say no to him.

Thrushpelt tried not to look as mortified as he felt that she had noticed he'd been hunting. Her teasing may have been spoken in jest, but each word pricked at him and he flicked his ear, as if fending off a fly.
"It's... running, that's for sure. We can't be hunting enough in this weather. We must feed the Clan well if we are to make it through leafbare." His words were probably true, but he said them mostly to justify his own persistency in hunting. He didn't want her to think he had any other motives. Not that he could think of any other motives she would think he had.

Thrushpelt blinked. He felt a bit embarrassed at having reacted so strongly to something so... trivial, he supposed it was. He glanced down at his paws and then forced himself to look back up at Hollysplash.
"Yeah. Let's... go... have fun." He squinted at the word. It tasted weird in his mouth, and it was probably because he hardly ever said it. To him, fun wasn't really something that he could afford to have. After all, he had a hungry Clan to feed, and borders to protect. That left little time for anything he might consider 'fun.' Which was probably why it felt weird to say it. And think of it. Thrushpelt's expression, unbeknownst to him, looked quite comical as he tried to think so hard it made his brow furrow.

Hahaha you should see your face at the moment its qwite hystarical." Hollysplash mewed with a smile. Hollysplash started for the camp entrince looking back to make sure thrushpelt was fallowing her." You know you really should save time in the day for relaxing or having fun. If you don't you'll realize half your life's gone buy and your a grouchy old fart and your unfofiled."

OOC: Did you mean unfulfilled?
Thrushpelt's ears flattened at her remark about his expression. He made sure to smooth out his face so that he looked composed again as he followed her towards the camp entrance. He frowned slightly at her comment and huffed indignantly.
"I'd rather be a grumpy old fart that served his Clan than a cat who wasted time on idle gossip," he meowed determinedly. He supposed he could stand to loosen up a bit, but he didn't want to look weak--especially not in front of the she-cat he admired.

Ooc: yeah sorry.
Hollysplash gasped in mock shock." Are you saying I waist my time on idle gossip. Because if you are I'm going to have to teach you a lesson." Hollysplash mewed with a smile she waved her tail playfully.

OOC: S'cool. Words are hard to spell lol. Should we start a new thread for the huntingnessings so that we don't bury the apprentices who posted in this thread?
Thrushpelt gulped as she waved her tail, trying not to look at it and think how pretty her tail was, her face, her eyes, everything about her... The tom cleared his throat nervously.
"I'm just saying... that I don't... really get along with cats... well... They say I take life too seriously," he said, and the last part of his confession was muttered as if he were some rebellious kit. Thrushpelt just didn't like cats telling him to stop being who he was. So what if he considered his duty above all? Was that such a bad thing?
