Name: Lastsong
Age: 29 moons
Gender: Tom
Clan: ThunderClan
Position: Medicine Cat
Description: Lastsong is a long-haired grey tabby tom with smoky fur and ebony-black stripes. He has strong hind legs that reflect his Ancient SkyClan ancestry. His pale-green eyes are a bit narrow and sometimes give off an angry look, but he's not as rough as he sometimes appears. He has one silver marking on his right shoulder that is shaped like a bird. He has a long, thinly-furred but silky tail, though the rest of his body can appear rather scruffy at times. His ears are pointed with fur at the tips. His paws are small for his size, but it makes it easier to get to his stores of herbs. Lastsong has a slightly arched nose, giving him a more regal, intimidating look (all the more so because of his eyes). His whiskers are oddly black at the tips, matching his nose and markings. The patched tip of his tail is the only variation to his fine coloring next to his bird marking. Lastsong's claws are pale grey, like his body, and wickedly curved. The only exception there is the two claws missing on his left paw, lost when he was a kit. The only other scars Lastsong has are on his neck, just below his chin--puncture wounds.
Personality: Lastsong is about as prickly as they come--or so it seems. He is very sarcastic and likes to make up dumb jokes that amuse no one but himself. He is quiet and a bit withdrawn. Most cats find him very hard to get along with, and others are easily intimidated by his looks and his surly attitude. But Lastsong is actually very caring and compassionate. He's observant, and likes to use this ability to take care of his Clanmate's mental health as much as their physical. His reasons for becoming a medicine cat are unclear, but even so it's his passion and his life, and though he can be a grump he's not all bad. Lastsong is smart, as well, even if he can be a bit dense (especially when it becomes to relationships in the Clan). He often takes things at face value and has a hard time understanding the illogical. He can be very gentle and patient, though, when he feels like it. Lastsong is guarded, though, and rarely talks about himself.
History:
Lastsong's parents were Undertree and Lilywhisper. Undertree had suffered much ridicule as a kit because his father had turned his back on him after his birth, saying that he didn't care for kits and never really wanted them at all. But Undertree's mother had been kind and affectionate, and she had made sure that her kits (Underkit and Cougarkit at the time) never felt unloved. This made Undertree feel insecure when Lilywhisper told him that she was expecting his kits. He did not think he could be a good father, because he had never had a father of his own. But with Lilywhisper's encouragement he reached out to his two kits, Lastkit and Bramblekit. Bramblekit was determined and brave and liked to interact with others. Lastkit was more reserved, and he tended to fend for himself, even after he became an apprentice. Both were warrior apprentices at first. Bramblepaw was an exceptional fighter, while Lastpaw was better at hunting. The two apprentices were in a battle early on in their apprenticeship over the border. Their father was with them, and during the battle he was injured badly. The wound became infected and Undertree died from it. Both Bramblepaw and Lastpaw were greatly saddened by their father's death. Bramblepaw pressed on, while Lastpaw seemed to retreat into himself more. Finally, he asked the medicine cat of ThunderClan if he could be her apprentice. She asked him why, and he only said that he believed it was what StarClan wanted him to do. The medicine cat accepted him and trained him. Lastpaw worked hard and learned the ways of the medicine cats, and was given his full name of Lastsong. But he found his heart being torn in two directions, and his life became more complicated. Then, it all went wrong when his mentor, Whitefeather, died of greencough. Her loss devastated Lastsong. He never quite forgave StarClan for taking Whitefeather so soon, but Lastsong let himself move on to a degree, so that he could still help his Clanmates as their medicine cat.
