Amberstar gazed over her clan with pride. There were two young cats who were about at their 6th moon, and it was time for them to have mentors. "Every cat old enough to catch their own prey gather around for a clan meeting!" she yowled out. She waited patiently as her clanmates started pouring from their dens.

Snowheart emerged out of the nursery with Sunkit and Moonkit. She knew these two would be the ones to now have mentors. It was a bittersweet moment for her, but she was proud to see her kits finally learning to be real warriors. She also knew this meant she'd be a warrior once more, too. Sunkit pranced out of the nursery, excited. "I wonder who my mentor is going to be!" she chirped excitedly, her fur fluffing up with excitement. "I'm going to be the best warrior one day, so I need the best mentor!"
Moonkit batted her sister's ear. "No way! I'm going to be the best, so I deserve the best mentor!" she purred, ducking her head out of the way as her sister attempted to get her back.
Snowheart scowled at her kits. She bent over and gave them both a few licks. "You're both going to be the best, but first you must stop acting like kits. You're going to be apprentices, you might as well start acting like it" she said sternly.
Both kits looked at her in surprise and nodded their heads, but both were still shivering with excitement.

Mousefoot stepped from her den, still a bit sleepy. She was just woken up from her sleep by her leader's yowling. So, apprentices were being made today, eh? She glanced over at Moonkit and Sunkit as they excitedly jumped around, and their mother Snowheart scolding them for their kit - like behavior.

Padding out of the warrior's den, Fairlight glanced up at her leader with pale hazel eyes, her expression serene. Moonkit and Sunkit were being made apprentices, which was always an exciting part of Clan life. Fairlight wondered who would become the kits' mentors. She glanced around the clearing and spotted Hazelight emerging from the entrance tunnel, her sandy fur sticking up at odd angles. Did that she-cat ever take any care over her appearance? Then there was the white puffball, Swanpaw, sitting next to the apprentice's den with a dry smile on her face. What was with that cat, anyways? With a huff Fairlight turned back to Amberstar, trying not to think about her own problems and instead focusing on the ceremony.

"Moonkit and Sunkit" she began, looking at the two kits. "You are now old enough to be apprentices. From now until you are named warriors, you will be known as Moonpaw and Sunpaw." Amberstar said, giving both apprentices their new names.
"Rainfrost, you are ready for an apprentice. I have faith that you will teach Sunpaw everything you know" she announced. Her gaze rested on Moonpaw. "Moonpaw, your mentor will be Hazelight."

Hazelight's eyes lit up and she padded forward to meet her new apprentice. The prospect of having a young cat to train was very exciting to her, and she hoped that she and Moonpaw would get along well. The she-cat looked down at Moonpaw and smiled.
"Hi there," she purred.

Rainfrost smiled at his new apprentice, "I will do my best to teach Sunpaw everything I know." he mewed and dipped his head in hello to Sunpaw.
